Hotel Casa Velas inauguró el día 14 de diciembre del 2010, 192 paneles solares para el calentamiento del agua de la alberca principal, la cual cuenta con una capacidad de 560 metros cúbicos. Esta acción continúa los esfuerzos iniciados el 13 de septiembre del 2010, cuando se inauguraron 60 paneles solares para el calentamiento de agua de 21 albercas privadas con una capacidad de 25 metros cúbicos. 

Los 252 paneles solares proporcionan 268, 531,200 kilocalorías y en otras palabras será igual a ahorrar, 312,092 Kwh al año. Así evitaremos que nuestro planeta reciba 89.91 toneladas de de bióxido de carbono al año, lo cual equivale a plantar 2,306 árboles jóvenes, reciclar 31 toneladas de basura o detener el uso de su coche por 16.45 años.

Además, a finales del mes de enero del 2011  se inaugurarán 70 paneles solares que abastecerán de agua caliente a las suites de este hermoso hotel.

Once again the Chalk Festival and gourmet expo returns to the Riviera Nayarit, where professional artists will use different urban art techniques to create a visual delight for each spectator. The event is scheduled in Bucerias from the 19th to the 21st of January, between Benito Juarez and Galeana.

The artists will participate with creations based on the theme “Los Niños de Nayarit” (The children of Nayarit), competing for cash prizes. On the 21st, a workshop will be offered for 150 children.

On par with this art exposition, Jazz performer Armi will play, and attendees will enjoy special appetizers and dishes prepared by local restaurants in the area. As if that weren’t enough, local artisans will also present their work. Bucerias Craft Club and Bucerias Chalk Art Walk are the organizers of this event.
